It's hard to believe the first quarter is nearly over. Sally Foster and Greenery Sales are now over. We'll find out how we did on these sales at the November PTO meeting scheduled for November 5 at 7 pm in the Central School Library. All are welcome.
On October 10, our children who completed the summer reading goal had a delightful field trip to Enchanted Castle, compliments of PTO.
Our first Family Night, a movie night held on October 12th, was a huge success. Our amazing staff of volunteers had the popcorn machine running smoothly, the sound system was great (thank you Mr. S. for the technical instruction) and the screen on the stage made viewing easy for everyone. We hope you'll join us for our next Family Night. Details coming soon.
Installation of our new bleachers in the Central School gym is now complete. Stop by and see what you helped us purchase for our school.
In November, we voted to support a number of teacher/staff philanthropy requests.
Our Back to School Spirit Wear sales have been delivered. We still have several items in a variety of sizes available. If you missed the sale or find you didn't order
enough or perhaps you'd like something extra for Holiday presents, check out this link (Spirit Wear ) to see what we have in stock.
While you are thinking about holiday gifts, check out the many opportunities to support PTO and Winfield schools by shopping the way you normally shop. If you shop online, you can shop through a portal on Boxtopsforeducation.com, marketday.com or escrip.com and donate up to 10% of your purchase price. At www.Escrip.com you can register credit cards and debit cards so that you can shop at participating brick and mortor stores and contribute to your school. Escrip even has some participating hotels and vacation destinations so that your Winter vacation could become a fundraiser.
Below are fundraisers ongoing through the 2nd quarter:

Take a night off from the kitchen, bring the form from the school to the restaurant, and whether you get take out and go home, or eat in and enjoy some social time with other Winfield families, the school profits. Last year we averaged about $100 per month. Our November Cook's Night out will be held at Baja Fresh in Danada. Thank you to everyone who came out to the West Chicago Augustino's in October. Watch Tiger Prints and look for flyers to come home in the back pack announcing the restaurant of the month. And when you stop in, thank the managers and owners for supporting our school.)
Thank you for helping us do some wonderful things for the school.
